Smoke and Mirrors

Years after an economic war with China, the U.S. is in shambles, its people living in poverty. The Jun police force wreaks havoc on the citizens, unchecked by the Chang Council who sit safe in their financial refuge.

The easiest way to survive is every man for himself, but Deric fights to keep his ragtag family of orphans together. True safety lies in New York City, but the sixty-mile trek is suicide, especially during winter.

Winter is here. They’re on the run. And the Jun show no mercy, not even to family.
